Ordered 3 million doses

He said that in Gujarat, corona vaccine is given in two parts, in which citizens aged 45 and above and in the other part, youngsters aged 18 to 44 years are vaccinated. Not only that, the state government has ordered 30 million doses of vaccine for 18 to 44 year olds.

In which 1 crore 34 lakh has been given first dose to 9 thousand 392 while 42 lakh 30 thousand 281 have been given second dose. Thus, out of the total population of 69.4 million, only 6% have been fully vaccinated. While 25 percent of the population received a single dose.

Herd immunity requires 70 percent of the population to take both doses. If 2 lakh people are vaccinated every day, it may take another three months to vaccinate half the population i.e. 35 million. But only about 75 percent would have received the first dose.

The Gujarat government asks every citizen to get vaccinated, but according to the World Health Organization, if 70 per cent of the population is vaccinated, herd immunity will come and the corona can be controlled. However, since people in this age group are most active in daily life, at least 85 per cent of them are expected to be vaccinated.
