The government of India launched the ‘Pashu Kisan Credit Card’ for the benefit of all animal husbandry farmers. This card will increase the animal husbandry business in the country and help the farmers earn more. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to extend the services of the Pashu Kisan Credit Card for a working capital requirement for a lot of activities that are related to animal husbandry and fisheries.

Features of Pashu Kisan Credit Card

Given below are the features of the Pashu Kisan Credit Card scheme:

  • Livestock owners are eligible for a loan amount of up to Rs.3 lakh. The scheme will offer Rs.60,249 per buffalo, Rs.40,783 for each cow, Rs.720 per egg-laying hen, and Rs.4063 per sheep/goat. For loans up to Rs.1.6 lakh, no guarantee will be required.
  • While financial institutions/banks provide loans at an interest rate of 7.00%, livestock owners under the Pashu Kisan Credit Card scheme will get loans at a lower interest rate of 4.00%.
  • The livestock owners must repay the loan amount plus interest within five years.
  • Loans will be provided to cattle owners in six equal instalments.

The Central Government will provide a rebate of 3.00%.

How Can You Apply for the Pashu Kisan Credit Card

  • In order to get a Pashu Kisan credit card, you will need to first visit a bank, and ask for the application form.
